It's hard to believe that this year marked our fifth-annual April Foos tournament. What began as a small foosball fundraiser has now grown into 20+ team tournament complete with specialty team uniforms, hand-made trophies and a little friendly rivalry.
This year's tournament was once again hosted at Milo Butterfingers and featured 22 teams from across the metroplex. While our friends at Charlie Tango (once again) claimed the championship, the true winner of the tournament was our beneficiary, Emily's Place.
Emily’s Place is not a shelter, which typically allows women to stay for 30 - 90 days. Rather, it is a "transformational" housing ministry based on a 24-month stay commitment which promotes stability and wise choices. We do not seek to simply sustain lives; rather, the goal is to enable residents to attain their highest personal potential through the development of their respective abilities and the healing of their hearts.
The transformational program includes mandatory classes covering topics such as life and job skills, financial training, parenting and etiquette.
We are thrilled to announce that we raised more than $2,500 for this wonderful organization, and we couldn't have done it without the generosity of our clients, spectators, volunteers and teams.
Thank you for making this year's tournament another success. Click here to view photos from the event, and be sure to start practicing now for next year's tournament.
